Record turnover for third year in a row

KURT MEDER GmbH in Schwenningen again tops company result

07/07/2017

The Schwenningen spring manufacturer remains fully on course for success. The company in Weidenstrasse generated turnover of 24.5 million euros in the past fiscal year 1.5 million more than in the previous year.

Schwenningen. It is by now a well-established tradition at MEDER for Managing Director Magnus Mauch to present the figures for the past fiscal year to the company's employees at the annual summer party. In the previous two years, the workforce at the precision spring manufacturer already had every reason to celebrate together with their Managing Director. This year, Mauch again had only positive news to report to the 150 staff gathered in the KURT MEDER GmbH car park. Happiness and pride were writ large in the face of MEDER's Managing Director as he rose to speak to the crowd. "We succeeded in increasing last year's record turnover by 6.9% to 24.5 million euros," said an exultant Mauch, to thunderous applause from his staff.

"We're playing in the Champions League – thanks to your great commitment and terrific performance," said Mauch as he thanked the workforce. But it wasn't only in terms of turnover that records were broken in fiscal year 2016/17: both incoming orders and orders on hand have never been as high as last year, the Managing Director added. "This is coupled with many new and exciting projects and technologies," Mauch went on to explain, citing as an example the successful integration of laser welding into the production process.

The number of employees grew from 182 to 196, with not even a single employee leaving the company. Four trainees started their training in 2016, and of those graduating, all three were taken on full time. Particularly pleasing: in the past fiscal year, over 1.3 million euros were invested. The outlook for the coming year is similar, for example with the granting of approval for the construction of a storage tower.

And it's not only economically that everything is running smoothly for the spring manufacturer. The refugees, trainee Khalid Youssef and employee Mr Shalabi, have been firmly integrated into everyday working life at the company. ZDF television will be reporting on this great development in the coming weeks.

"For all our happiness, we're already thinking about the winter here now in summer," said Magnus Mauch with a grin. As a reward for the excellent performance of MEDER staff, he promised everyone a thick MEDER jacket for the cold season, which means that employees are well outfitted with MEDER polo shirts for the summer and the jackets for the winter.

Still happy with the positive figures and results, the summer party then moved on to the really fun part. After all, the first MEDER Rodeo Cup was now to be held. Nine teams took the opportunity to test their mettle in the bull riding competition, with fitting musical accompaniment by country singer Carlo Haggard. All of the participants gave it their very best, competing as they were for trophies and vouchers for the first three places.

The only ups and downs at the KURT MEDER GMBH summer party were in the bull riding. In terms of turnover, there's only one direction – and that's up.
