MEDER bears up against flagging economy

Spring manufacturer closes fiscal year with turnover of around 26 million euros

Schwenningen-based spring manufacturer MEDER ends its fiscal year on June 30 with a good result: despite a flagging economy, Managing Director Magnus Mauch announced turnover of 25.5 million euros to employees at the company’s traditional summer Party.

Schwenningen. At Schwenningen-based manufacturer of precision springs KURT MEDER GmbH, there is a by now well-established tradition of ending the fiscal year with a summer party. As in previous years, Managing Director Magnus Mauch invited all employees to celebrate together with a barbecue and Party.

During the celebration, the Managing Director took the opportunity to present the figures for the past fiscal year to the more than 140 employees who attended. Despite the generally weak economic situation, MEDER succeeded in generating turnover of 25.5 million euros. And in spite of the shaky economy, MEDER again invested heavily in order to continue to respond to the changes in the industry and cover the growing demand for high-precision springs. A total of 2.2 million euros was invested, primarily in new production capacities and the further optimization of internal processes. “We have taken another step in the right direction, especially in terms of quality management and customer satisfaction,” said Managing Director Mauch, emphasizing in particular that as a result of optimization, there were around a third fewer complaints compared to the previous year.

It was not only customers of KURT MEDER GmbH who had reason to be pleased with this fiscal year. There was also lively participation in the many offers available to employees: more than 35 employees, for example, are already leasing a new e-bike via MEDER, and many more take advantage of the benefits offered by their service to the spring specialist. “The enthusiasm of the MEDER workforce for shared activities that contribute to a healthier everyday life is also encouraging”, emphasized Mauch. For example, a team of 20 Meder employees took part in the last Schwenningen company run. A further 35 Meder sports enthusiasts took up the “Meder walks to Palermo” challenge, a project in which they each had to notch up 10,000 steps per day, and where they exceeded their self-imposed target by an average of 4,400 daily steps
